Based on Moliere's The Misanthrope, playwright David Ives calls his approach “translaptation”. Whether through

birkenstocks with waistcoats, pop art with damask wallpaper, or chandeliers with LED tape, the production team sought to honor this through the creation of a world of juxtapositions to highlight the almost Real Housewives nature of this farce.

The lighting was bright and colorful, reflecting both the decadence of the rich French environment as well as shifting tones and progression of time of day. The LED tape panels and proscenium utilized 13 character specifics color palettes that shifted to highlight which character was dominating the moment.
